This month is Foster Care Month. We have been very active on our social media channels but wanted to update our site too. Follow along to learn more. Please share to help bring awareness to the great need that is foster care.
There are more than 407,000 children in foster care. Placing children and youth with kin caregivers can uniquely support reunification and can often help minimize trauma. But as you see, only 34% are placed with relatives. That leaves 66% to be placed in foster homes, group homes, and other placements. The need for foster families and foster care resources is great!
