The Junior Counselor role is a leadership development program. Junior Counselors consist of high schoolers that have demonstrated a heart for Christ and a desire to lead others. We give them the opportunity to do that by assisting counselors, serving campers, and many other tasks.

What is unique about this program is that we want former campers to join our Junior Counselor program. This allows them to spend many weeks during the summer learning how to lead, what it means to follow Christ, and the importance of serving others.

Our goal is to train high school students to “graduate” from the junior counselor position to the counselor position. We want to teach these students how to love the fatherless by serving them. Once they graduate high school and choose to return as a counselor, we will then teach them how to lead campers.
